If the crowd last night had been fun, I would've played this song. As it was, I played a lot of classics--which I love, but which it would have been nice to alternate with less familiar songs.
That's all there is, sadly. It was just a moment in a live go go show in Norfolk when the dude on the synth played that "obamaobamaobamaobama" loop from a rap song and they played on top of it. But with Serato, I can loop that min and a half and we can Obama party all night.
I was talking to a friend of a friend yesterday who DJed with Africa Bambaataa on the night of the inauguration, and he (my friend's friend) said he had wanted to remix "Rock the Casbah" to say "Barack the Casbah" and play it fr the crowd, but he hadn't gotten around to doing it.
I did a live "Yes We Can" mix that was totally lost on the crowd. A bunch of totally obnoxious young women just started chanting "Single Ladies Yes We Can". So I didn't even get around to playing what was supposed to be the highlight of the night: a mix of the JB's "Soul Power" with MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech.
